A UNIQUE APPROACH TO HELP STIMULATE HEALING AND RESTORE PROPER FUNCTION
During the first part of your initial consultation, Dr. Peterson will spend time carefully reviewing your health history and understanding any symptoms you may be experiencing. In order to do so, we ask that you download and complete the new patient form(s) (below) prior to your first visit. If available, please also bring a copy of any CTs, X-rays, and other relevant test results. Based on your history and current condition, we will perform a series of examinations during this initial visit for a comprehensive assessment.

Following your initial visit, Dr. Peterson will review the findings from your examinations and create a Chiropractic care plan best suited to meet your unique needs. During the follow-up visit, Dr. Peterson will share your results and your individualized care plan, including a timeline and cost of care.

FREQUENTLY ASKED CHIROPRACTIC QUESTIONS

Have a question about the best care for your condition that traditional medicine won’t alleviate? At Kindspine Chiropractic Center, we are more than happy to help. Here are some answers to the most frequently asked chiropractic questions:
WHAT IS UPPER CERVICAL CHIROPRACTIC CARE?
Upper Cervical Chiropractic care focuses on the intimate relationship between the first two bones (atlas C1 and axis C2) in the neck and a vital portion of the nerve system called the brain-stem. The interrelationship between these structures is absolutely essential to the body’s ability to promote and restore health. As the correction in the upper neck is achieved the entire body is brought back into balance as stress on posture nerves feeding the brain stem is relieved. Rather than just treating the symptoms, this natural method of health care focuses on correcting the causes of physical problems.

IS IT SAFE?
Yes. All chiropractic treatments have a good safety record and never require any drugs or invasive health care procedures. The only side effect you may experience is slight soreness which can be easily relieved by applying ice to the sore area.
WHAT IS MISALIGNMENT?
misalignment is where the head, neck, and top vertebra (atlas) have shifted sideways from their normal position. This causes stress and altered nerve flow to and from the brain and creates posture distortion and body imbalance as the entire spine shifts off-center. As the correction in the upper neck is achieved the entire body is brought back into balance as stress on posture nerves feeding the brain stem is relieved.
WHAT IS A SUBLUXATION?
Subluxation is when one or more of the bones of your spine (vertebrae) move out of position and create pressure on, or irritate spinal nerves. This pressure or irritation causes the nerves to malfunction and interfere with the signals traveling over those nerves to your brain and body. Chiropractors correct subluxation by performing chiropractic adjustments which relieves bone pressure on the spinal nerves.
HOW DO SUBLUXATIONS HAPPEN?

Subluxations are the result of our stresses and strains of everyday activities, habits, and events. Daily sitting, lifting, bending, standing and sleeping positions strain our spine, causing misalignment. Subluxations also occur due to accidents, including falls, car wrecks, sports injuries, and more.

Many Subluxations can occur at birth due to interventions such as forceps or suction but are even more common due to the pulling and twisting of the newborn’s neck during C-section and even the traditional “corkscrew method” widely used in hospitals all over the world.

WHAT IS A UPPER CERVICAL CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENT?
An Upper Cervical chiropractic adjustment is the most common way to correct spinal subluxations. It involves the application of pressure to specific misaligned bones in an effort to “unlock” the vertebrae and relieve the pressure placed on the nerves that branch from the spine. Once the adjustment is made, the bones are free to align correctly.
WHAT IS RETRACING?
When you undergo chiropractic care, you may start to exhibit symptoms that have not manifested themselves for months or even years. A patient’s first impression is that they are becoming worse, but rather they are retracing the several stages through which their disease, pain, or health concern progressed in the first place.

This is a crucial part of the recovery process. Time and repetition is needed to allow the body to heal and repair itself.

It is essential for this period of retracing to be passed through in order to achieve the end goal. Don’t allow any temporary symptoms to discourage you and prevent you from achieving your ultimate health!

DO CHIROPRACTORS TREAT CONDITIONS OTHER THAN BACK PAIN?
Chiropractors DO NOT “treat” symptoms. They detect Subluxation and adjust the vertebrae involved. Once the adjustment is made, the interference is removed and the whole body functions better. Therefore they are effective for several different types of soft tissue disorders including neck, back, and other bodily extremity pain. Chiropractic care has also been known to help with several other conditions including ADHD, allergies, asthma, ear infections, fibromyalgia, headaches, PMS, Sciatica, Scoliosis, stress, and more.
