Although born in Cape Canaveral, Florida, Dr. Peterson’s roots lie in a small town in the Southern Tier of New York. He later moved to Hilton Head Island in 1994, where he attended the University of South Carolina for undergraduate studies. In 1996, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia to attend Life College of Chiropractic, now Life University, and begin his Chiropractic training. There he gained a firm grasp on anatomy, physiology, organic chemistry, neurology and radiology.
Being a 3rd generation Chiropractor, Dr. Peterson is passionate about the philosophy, science and art of Chiropractic as set forth by it’s founder and developer. Therefore, he spent his time studying the Central Nervous System and how it relates to the overall function of the human body. He mainly focused on the detection and correction of Vertebral Subluxation and it’s roll in the restoration and maintenance of health. Dr. Peterson is more than efficient in several Chiropractic Adjusting Techniques, all of which have been proven most effective in reducing Subluxation of the spine.
Dr. Peterson received his Doctorate of Chiropractic in March of 2003. A few months later he founded Virginia Hill Chiropractic with his long time friend, Dr. Adam Eisamen. Together they literally built their office from the ground up. Over the last ten years, through word of mouth, their practice has grown exponentially and is now a permanent part of the community and serving hundreds of patients a month.
Dr. Peterson stays involved with many Chiropractic organizations including the International Chiropractic Association, Georgia Council of Chiropractic, International Federation of Chiropractors and Organizations, The Foundation for Vertebral Subluxation and the Movement for Chiropractic Quality and Integrity. He also attends many seminars and conferences for continuing education, so that he can stay informed about the most current trends and information in his field.
Dr. Peterson will tell you himself, “I am a life long student of Chiropractic”.
Dr. Peterson spends his spare time with his wife, Tania, and his daughter, Eve. He enjoys boating, snowboarding, hiking, rock climbing and repelling, photography and live music.
